Our new favourite cook-book

We're always on the hunt for new kitchen inspiration and recently we stumbled across 'What to cook and how to cook it' by Jane Hornby.

While most cookbooks only have an image of the finished dish, Hornby lovingly photographs each ingredient and each step in the process.

This is a delicious example of design at its simplest and most beautiful.

This delightful animation by Andrea Stinga and Federico Gonzalez brings to life a graphical representation of the A-Z of arguably the most prominent architects of the modern world and their iconic buildings that have forged our international landscape.


Engaging LED Interactive Wall for Children

22nd March 2013

An engaging and unique experience for the children at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in the United Kingdom.

This installation uses LED panels and bespoke graphic wallpaper to create an entertaining experience for the children on the way to the theatre room.

A Christmas creative challenge

17th December 2012

For our christmas card this year we set our friends a small creative challenge - connect a grid of nine dots using only four straight lines. Not as easy as it looks.

As 2012 draws to a close, we'd like to thank you for reading Show & Tell and being part of the Principle family - bring on next year!

The studio will close on the 20th of December and re-open from the 14th of January next year.

Principle Design Wins 3 Awards!

The Australian Design Biennale is the design industries most respected awards showcase. Recognising only the most innovative designs, the Biennale is a fantastic example of the countries best creative projects.
Principle Design was recognised with three awards on the night, in categories including typography, indentity and signage.

The Sony Music Typographic Timeline

30th October 2012

The Sony Music Timeline celebrates 125 years of musical history covering almost 150 square meters of wall space in Sony’s Derry Street offices. Using just CNC cut vinyl as the sole medium, 54 columns measuring over 2 meters tall cover feature nearly 1000 of Sony Music's signed artists from 1887 to the present day.

Speeding Up Science

12th October 2012

Check out Ichthyologist Brian Sidlauskas research expedition of the little-known Cuyuni River region of Guyana in South America. Brain uses Facebook in his quest to discover the species of the fish he has found. Through tagging fellow academics in the uploaded images of the fish, he is actively calling out to his peers in helping him identify these creatures.

Keith Haring mural in collingwood

13th September 2012

1 of 31 outdoor murals left by the late Keith Haring, has been approved to be restored by Heritage Victoria. The Johnson Street mural is a fantastic example of the 80's New York Pop Artist and his unique, colourful and positive style.

Art & About Sydney: Benja Harney

Featuring at this years Art & About in Sydney is the amazing paper engineer Benja Harney. He's created some intriguing and truly beautiful paper art forms for clients such Lego, Desktop Magazine and the Sydney MardiGras.
