Birds Australia is a large non-profit organisation that supports the conservation and welfare of birds across Australia.
We developed an elegant folding system of differing page sizes, resulting in surprising and engaging reveals. By physically separating financial data, we extended the publication’s utility, enabling it to also be used for new member solicitation. In an initiative to eliminate paper wastage, we turned unutilised areas of the printed sheets into a series of double-sided bookmarks.
“Principle Design has applied their innovative design to produce a beautiful, professional showcase piece for Birds Australia’s 2009 Annual Report. Incorporating striking images of birds and landscapes with a stylish layout and matching font, the report visually guides the reader through the text. You want to pick it up and find out what is inside, which is exactly the function we requested of the designers, in the hopes of broadening our audience. Principle Design approached the project with enthusiasm, openness, superb ideas and dedication. I highly recommend them if you want to revolutionise the design of your organisation.” — Jennifer
