Emerald Hill Residence is an aged care facility located in South Melbourne, established in 2010 after a unification of Claremont Home and South Port Community Residential Home.
Our task was to create a branded graphics package that detailed the four levels of the residential building. The package encompassed wayfinding signage, room identification, privacy decals and a bespoke totem sign for the entrance of the facility. With over 120 years of combined experience in aged care, Emerald Hill’s design solution needed to reflect the prestigious history of the organisation.
The Principle Design team created an elegant solution that was directly inspired by the architectural finishes to create a harmonious design.
Specific attention was given to the dementia wing housed within Emerald Hill’s facility, with useful design to enable effective room identification. Our research showed that a person affected with dementia could recognise their past self, which fed into our design solution.
