Melbourne University Sport

Melbourne University Sport (MUSA) is the central body that provides high-level policy and financial advice on the development of student sport. We were approached in 2019 to design and execute an Annual Report that resonates with the institute’s many stakeholders. With three instalments now released, MUSA is continuing to build brand equity as an independent arm of the Melbourne University empire.

MUSA promotes three main pillars – participation, leadership and performance, each underpinned by a myriad of goals that unite the student community. Colour is the blueprint used to communicate these values, reminding the reader of the distinctive qualities that make up the MUSA ‘Strategic Plan’. Our creative direction revealed a classic evolution of the existing  Melbourne University brand identity, featuring angular page elements that represent the rhythm of athletic movements. Further accented with bold colours, each section is defined by a distinct colour and detailed in the line geometry.

For the 2021 Annual Report, MUSA communicated the need for an additional section that could highlight alumni’s success in the Tokyo Olympics. Our team applied bespoke design features, alluding to the rarity of these successes and the pride they bring to the MUSA community.

It has been a pleasure working with the Melbourne University team for the last year five years. We value their continued trust in our Creative Process and look forward to producing Annual Reports for years to come.
