Hone Built is a family company building passive houses from conception to completion. As a certified B Corp company, Hone have a passion for sustainability that not only transforms everyday lives but has an undeniable positive impact on the environment.

The goal for the Hone brand identity was to communicate the value of passivhaus building and to educate the Australian market of the value this can bring to their lives. Hone are not just builders and architects, they are the best in their field and have honed their craft over the years to confidently deliver buildings that are good for you and for the planet.

Built from a series of vertical beams, the wordmark was created to reflect the sustainable practices of intelligent and thoughtful design, using materials in a clever way and only using what is necessary for maximum efficiency.

One of our objectives was to communicate to our audience not only what Passivhaus is, but to encourage people to investigate the principles they can apply to their renovations or new builds to create more sustainable homes and healthy living spaces.

Our system was centred around honing in on sustainability, encouraging clients to make adjustments where they could to work towards the common goal of healthy homes and a happy planet.

Each ring in the circle identifies one of the core principles in passive house building. Each project is assessed and allocated a rating based on this system, where the closer the rings are to the centre, the more sustainable the house is. This has been implemented as a visual gauge to quickly identify the rating of each house at a glance.
