Known Stranger Tea Range Box Packaging Brand Strategy / Brand Identity / Print Design / Digital Design / Art Direction

Known Stranger’s premium tea collection deserved packaging that matched its depth—vibrant, layered and rich in detail. We were engaged to design a system that elevated the daily ritual of tea drinking into something worth displaying.

Each box houses a curated selection of five blends, with 15 hand-blended tea bags inside. We built a structure that doubles as a “tea drawer”, designed for both ease of use and visual appeal. Unlike traditional tea boxes that are hidden away, this format invites the product to live proudly on the bench—functionally beautiful, and made to be reached for.

The packaging design is intentionally expressive. Each flavour has a unique colourway, paired with refined typographic details and a bespoke composition of ingredient-inspired photography. We captured the textures and tones of the teas, dried fruit, herbs, and florals, in artful still-life arrangements that celebrate the richness inside every bag.

Rather than relying on category cues, we created a design language that blends premium with playful. Deep, saturated colour palettes are offset by soft neutrals and tactile finishes. The logotype, refined and restrained, acts as an anchor across the range.

For those who find a favourite, we also designed a series of single-flavour boxes, each containing 10 individually wrapped tea bags in colour-coded envelopes. The system is built for discovery and refinement, whether you’re tasting your way through or settling into a daily go-to.

The result is a packaging range that’s equal parts practical and poetic, bringing ritual, beauty and function into harmony.
