Each year, the Global CCS Institute releases the Global Status Report, a benchmark publication tracking the progress, investment and development of carbon capture and storage worldwide. Read across government, energy, infrastructure and climate sectors, the report plays a key role in shaping industry understanding and global discussion around decarbonisation.
For the 2025 release, the Institute required a complete visual rollout system that could support the report well beyond the document itself.
The Challenge
Large volumes of technical content, data, regional insights and market analysis needed to feel structured and engaging without losing the authority expected from a globally recognised think tank. At the same time, the report launch extended across digital platforms, stakeholder communications and campaign assets, requiring a visual system capable of carrying consistency across every touchpoint.
The project needed to feel cohesive at every level, from detailed editorial layouts through to social and digital rollout.
The Thinking
Visual consistency was critical, but so was flexibility. The design language needed to adapt across long-form publication design, digital graphics, presentation environments and campaign assets while still feeling connected to a single release.
Editorial pacing, typography and layout structure were carefully refined to support readability across large volumes of content, while supporting digital assets introduced a sharper and more immediate layer to the rollout. The balance between technical credibility and accessibility became central to the overall direction.
We delivered the creative rollout for the Global Status Report 2025, designing the publication alongside a suite of supporting campaign and digital assets.
This included editorial design, infographics, social media assets, email signatures, presentation backgrounds, digital graphics and a dedicated landing page developed to support the global launch of the report.
Each component was designed as part of a connected visual system, ensuring the publication could move seamlessly across platforms, audiences and communication channels.
The final outcome gave the Global CCS Institute a more unified and considered way to communicate one of the industry’s most significant annual reports, strengthening engagement across digital, editorial and stakeholder environments.
From policy and infrastructure to investment and sustainability, the Global Status Report 2025 now carries a level of clarity, presence and cohesion that reflects the importance of the conversations it helps shape.
