Principle Design were privileged to provide semi pro-bono design assistance to Art Education Victoria, an organisation that supports and represents visual arts based educators throughout the state.
Art Education Victoria’s identity needed to be down to earth yet filled with purpose in order to engage with diverse stakeholders and funders. A lively colour palette and playful motifs form an agile and credible visual language that will assist AEV in their mission to form a creative ‘learning community’.
The extension of brand language is populated through the Arts Education Victoria website. Graphic shapes layer photography in striking headers that capture user’s curiosity and invite them to explore the website’s rich content.
“Art Education Victoria has recently undergone a website and brand redesign to help it better connect with and inspire the Victorian arts community and its educators. Principle Design not only designed a beautiful online space where our members want to congregate, but collaborated with us to help define our purpose and vision, which included defining how we would connect and support the arts community in the future. The newly redesigned website has been pivotal in enabling Art Education Victoria to connect with our audience and build connections amongst a geographically dispersed community. The website promotes online and offline opportunities, provides resources for the community, and serves a hub for the organisations vast social media community building efforts. The website has played a key role in supporting the vision of a vibrant and interconnected arts community through establishing stronger connections with partner organisations such as the National Gallery of Victoria, Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, and Bendigo Art Gallery. We are on our way to becoming the first point of call for professional development with a focus on establishing excellence in visual arts education. Within the last two years, Art Education Victoria has undertaken radical organisational change so that we can better serve the needs of our community. This shift would not have been possible without Principle Design.” — Steve Marks, President of AEV
