Sketch approach every project with a firm commitment to respect what makes it unique. Our vision was to create a versatile language that represents that core value through the art of construction and draftsmanship.
Our vision brought Sketch to life as a leading design company with a strong focus on design thinking and easy communication. We conveyed a look and feel of credibility, trustworthiness and professionalism through their brand, website and collateral.
The project brief was to design a fresh brand, secondary language, and website for the already established business. Sketch’s refreshed brand needed to remain appealing to their current clientele while also resonating with a more up-market target audience.
With this in mind, we blended approachability with contemporary elegance through their logo and colour palette. The use of thick and thin lines within the logo helped demonstrate their versatility within both target markets. The thick lines are more relaxed and almost playful, while the thin lines are more elegant and refined. This contrast also exemplifies their strong attention to detail. The use of sandstone, charcoal, graphite and black primary colours balance the use of steel greys and white throughout all the brand collateral helped to create a combination of both approachability, reliability and modern elegance (without feeling too exclusive).
We considered the planning stage of construction — blueprints, outlines and (literal) sketches containing an array of straight lines and sharp angles. We employed this concept, adding linework texture and building blocks from raw lines and grids to their branding, collateral and website. This helped to represent Sketch as more than just a building company, illustrating clearly that they also design and this work is always well-planned and considered.
By decoding key points of the company values through carefully implemented strategy, we were able to graphically visualise Sketch as a company with a wide array of experience, adaptiveness, and leading technology that can provide innovative building design solutions for diverse clients and businesses.
